Khatia Jakhua

Marani Argvani

“Argvani” is located in the village of Abedati, Samegrelo, just nine kilometers from the center of Martvili.

Khatia Jakhua’s “Argvani” winery has a history spanning several years, although the family has long been involved in viticulture. Harvests were always held here, and the wine was aged in a press. Khatia revived a forgotten tradition, replanted the vineyard, and built a completely new cellar.

The vineyard is primarily planted with Mingrelian grape varieties, such as Ojaleshi and Chvitiluri. The winemaker also creates blends of Georgian and European grapes.

As an artist by profession, the host will teach you how to draw traditional Georgian ornaments and will carefully explain the historical significance of the details on the monuments you will encounter in the surrounding area.

During your visit to “Argvani”, you will also have the opportunity to explore the sights of Martvili.
