Wine analysis for small wineries and wine diseases and disorders

On March 17-18, 2023, another training was held for members of the WIWI Association at the Irma Chanturia Wine Laboratory.

The training covered two of the most important topics for winemakers:

“Wine Analysis for Small Cellars” - Mentor, Head of the Irma Chanturia Wine Laboratory - Tika Jajanidze.

“Wine diseases and disorders” - Mentor, Head of the Agricultural Scientific Research Center, Professor of the Agrarian University - David Chichua.

The training was held with the support of the “Private Sector Development and Vocational Education in the South Caucasus” (PSD TVET SC) program, which is implemented in Georgia, On March 17–18, 2023, members of the Women in Wine Industry Association (WIWI) participated in a two-day training session held at the Irma Chanturia Wine Laboratory.

The training focused on two essential topics for small-scale winemakers:

                •             “Wine Analysis for Small Cellars”, led by Tika Jajanidze, Head of the Irma Chanturia Wine Laboratory.

                •             “Wine Diseases and Disorders”, delivered by Professor David Chichua, Head of the Agricultural Scientific Research Center and faculty member at the Agrarian University.

Participants gained both theoretical and practical knowledge, equipping them with critical tools to maintain wine quality and prevent production challenges.

The training was organised with the support of the Private Sector Development and Vocational Education in the South Caucasus (PSD TVET SC) programme, implemented in Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan in partnership with relevant national ministries and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).Azerbaijan and Armenia with the support of the relevant responsible ministries and the German International Cooperation Agency #GIZ, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development #BMZ.
