FEMINA VINA — The First Festival of Women Winemakers
26/04/2026On April 25, the wine bar Sadzvele in Tbilisi hosted the women winemakers’ festival FEMINA VINA, organized by the Women in Wine Industry Association (WIWI) and Vinemo Wine School.
The festival brought together up to 40 women winemakers and entrepreneurs from different regions of Georgia. Most participants represent small-scale producers who often have limited access to broader markets, making events like FEMINA VINA an important platform for increasing visibility and building connections.
Both established and emerging wineries were featured at the event, reflecting the growing diversity and development of women-led initiatives in Georgian winemaking.
Visitors had the opportunity to taste small-batch and often unique wines, learn about their production, and engage directly with the producers. The festival also served as a space for professional interaction and the creation of new business relationships.
The event welcomed wine enthusiasts as well as representatives from the HoReCa sector, offering participants valuable opportunities to present their products and expand their professional networks.
The main goal of FEMINA VINA is to strengthen the role of women in Georgian winemaking, support small producers, and introduce consumers to the diversity of authentic Georgian wines.
The organizers plan to continue developing similar initiatives in the future, including professional masterclasses aimed at promoting women winemakers and introducing their products to wider and international markets.
