Small wineries - problems and prospects

12/11/2023

On November 11, 2023, members of the Women in Wine Industry Association (WIWI) took part in a training session titled “Small Wineries – Problems and Prospects.” The session was led by renowned oenologist and wine researcher Davit Chichua, who provided in-depth insights into the challenges faced by small wine producers and strategies for sustainable growth.

As part of the training, a tasting of wines produced by WIWI members was held, fostering peer-to-peer feedback and discussion on quality and market positioning.

The event was graciously hosted by Lagvani Marani, offering a welcoming environment for both learning and exchange.

The training was conducted with the support of the Private Sector Development and Vocational Education in the South Caucasus (PSD TVET SC) programme. This initiative is implemented in Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), in collaboration with the respective national ministries.
