21/04/2019

Maia Katsitadze and Manana Akhvlediani, founders of the Women in Wine Industry (WIWI) Association, along with member Guliko Panchulidze, appeared on national television to discuss the evolving role of women in Georgia’s wine sector. The conversation highlighted the association’s mission, future initiatives, and the achievements of its members.

Guliko Panchulidze shared her personal journey into winemaking, emphasizing the critical and growing contribution of women to the development and preservation of Georgia’s rich wine heritage.

The founders outlined the association’s ongoing efforts to support and empower women winemakers by fostering knowledge exchange, building community, and promoting Georgian wine locally and internationally.

The program also spotlighted the launch of an international catalog, supported by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). Authored by researcher, wine blogger, and winemaker Keti Ninidze, the catalog presents the stories, philosophies, and aspirations of Georgian women winemakers. It marks a significant step in sharing their voices with a global audience and strengthening the international profile of Georgian wine.
