Exhibition of Georgian Women Winemakers' Products Held in Krakow
05/12/2022On December 3–4, a special exhibition showcasing the work of Georgian women winemakers was held in Krakow, as part of the project “Georgian Women Winemakers Without Borders.”
The event was jointly organised by Manana Akhvlediani and Maia Katsitadze, co-founders of the Women in Wine Industry Association (WIWI), along with Keto Prangulaishvili, founder of the Polish-based company “Lile.”
The exhibition brought together 20 winemakers from the WIWI Association, who presented a wide selection of Georgian wines. Attendees were treated to tastings, a curated wine exhibition, and a film screening that offered a unique perspective on the Georgian wine industry through the lens of its women producers.
A highlight of the event was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Georgian and Polish winemakers. A joint tasting session featuring both Georgian and Polish wines followed, fostering new connections and dialogue between the two wine cultures.
The exhibition not only highlighted the diversity and quality of Georgian wine but also served as a powerful platform to share Georgia’s rich cultural and historical heritage with the Polish audience.
The
Women in Wine Industry Association extends sincere gratitude to the National
Wine Agency for fully funding and supporting the project, with special thanks
to Tamar Metreveli, Head of the Agency’s Marketing Department, whose dedication
and leadership were instrumental to the success of this initiative.
